  • Somatic work

is a bottom-up approach, while guided in a safe space, that explores happenings within the body and our psyche. The approach work on the basis that our bodies hold onto past experiences or traumas, which oftentimes may manifest later as:

    • physical & physiological symptoms such as chronic pain or tension, eczema, lack of energy, vertigo, chronic fatigue or burn out, and much more,
    • psychological symptoms like anxiety, intrusive images/thoughts, inability to concentrate, feelings of deep sadness, depression, PTSD or extremely high and low moods,

    • neurological symptoms like persistent or sudden onset of headaches, migraines, tics, muscle rigidity, loss of feeling or tingling,
    • behavioural symptoms such as acting out or withdrawing from peers and activities, or unhealthy habitual cycles that one can’t seem to make sense of or break out from.

One way of the somatic approach is helping the body to re-negotiate events on a body-based level to experience relief. This process would offer us deeper insights and understanding of our pain, discovering self-regulating skills, tools, and ways to heal ourselves or navigate our life journey.
