About Danica

Hi, I’m Danica, a therapist specialising in somatic and trauma-informed approaches that weave together Eastern wisdom, Western science, and an understanding of diverse cultures and lived experiences. My roots in sports and exercise studies, along with integrative psychosomatic therapy, ground my understanding of the body-mind connection and shape the way I support people in their healing.

Since 2017, I’ve been offering mindfulness, compassion, and somatic-based therapy, coaching, and training for individuals, groups, and organisations. My early work focused on supporting athletes and sports teams, as well as young people and adults seeking growth and performance balance. Over time, this naturally evolved into deeper therapeutic work, supporting individuals hoping to manage psychosomatic pain or healing from sexual trauma, rangatahi and their whānau navigating addictions, and members of rainbow and neurodiverse communities.

I primarily draw from Internal Family Systems (IFS), somatic trauma therapy, mindfulness, self-compassion, and sound therapy. I also integrate elements of ACT, CBT, MI, sensory modulation, and therapeutic yoga as needed, to meet each person where they are. I hope to offer a grounded, non-judgemental space where you can safely explore your inner world with curiosity, compassion, and a sense of connection.

What started in 2016 with my first project, Six Spac, focused on mindfulness-based training, has since evolved into Soma Circle Wellness, the heart of my work today. Through Soma Circle Wellness, I’m dedicated to helping people reconnect with themselves and experience the natural wholeness of mind-body integration.
